Remember when Amazon knocked a hefty chunk off its Fire tablets for Prime members the other week? Now it’s the Kindle’s turn. For a limited time, Amazon Prime members can get a great deal on the four tiers of the Kindle e-reader line-up:

That’s the biggest savings you’re likely to see on an e-reader outside of a Prime Day or Black Friday (Month) sale—and as far as I know, the first time the basic Oasis has been marked down at all. And if you’re not a Prime member yet, you could always sign up for the free 30-day trial. I wasn’t able to find when the deal ended, but the Fire sale lasted a week; perhaps this one will as well. As with the Fire sale, you’re limited to one sale-priced device per customer and account.

Of course, even at $50 off, you’d have to be a pretty dedicated e-ink reader fan to want to drop over $300 on one; you could get a decent non-Fire tablet for less than that. But if you’ve already had your eye on the Oasis for a while and just been waiting for a good sale, this could be the right time to pull the trigger.

(Note that this sale price only applies to the $360 Oasis with WiFi and 3G. I’ve confirmed by adding both to my shopping cart that it does not take the $50 discount off the already-priced-at-$310 WiFi-only model.)

It’s also worth remembering that shortly after Amazon put its Fire tablets on Prime-members-only sale, it announced a new addition to the Fire lineup. Might the same thing be coming soon for the Kindle?
